My journey to yoga began through the medium of the body. As a youth, I studied dance and ballet from the age of six, as well as gymnastics and sports through high school. After college, I moved to New York City where I became a professional modern dancer.
My career took a turn when I became an aerialist and equilibrist with the Big Apple Circus. My husband and I performed and toured with major circuses throughout Canada and the United States.
When I left performing, I became a mother and took my first yoga class. It spoke to my physical awareness in a profound way—different from any prior physical activity. Yoga helped me to understand the spiritual and metaphysical insights I had experienced during my life.
Since 1992, I have taught yoga at major yoga studios throughout Westchester County, NY. I am a certified Yoga Instructor, recognized by the Yoga Alliance at the E-RYT 500 level. Also, I teach adaptive yoga for people with limited mobility, such as those with multiple sclerosis. My teaching is a blend of trainings in Kripalu, Iyengar, and Astanga techniques. My practice now includes my certification as a Level II Reiki practitioner.
Yoga brought me a deep sense of connection to the world and to all beings. I’m grateful for every experience, each teacher and every person who guided me down this path. I love teaching yoga and look forward to the ongoing journey. Namaste!
